Camio
Camio wasn't my first love in the series, but he grew on me. As a character he was so kind, loving, and determined. His design wasn't overly fancy but the color combo was what caught me. I spent some time finding a wig for him and got very lucky on Ebay with a taobao crossover seller. It remains one of my favorite wigs because of the quality.
The tunic was my first step. I just used one of my T-shirts as a pattern and extended it. I made a mock up on paper (because who uses fabric for mock ups? HA) to do the accenting panels. I made it very tight to fit my proportions so it's unfortunately one of those cosplays I grew out of unless I bring my weight down. The lapels are sewn in-between the sleeves with a standard big blue button. I had them functional because of the cape. The tunic has a zipper in the back for me to get into, using broadcloth for this was a bad idea because the inside of the collar actually rubs my neck wrong and is painful for too extended period of wearing. The white lapels on the front are held on by the buttons, they come off for cleaning! This was not lined. The arm sash is just cotton fabric with satin stitched lines on it. It is attached to the tunic by the seam on the sleeve.
The cape was just two pieces of fabric sewn together. I used a very light weight cotton for this to make it light, and this is the only part of the costume that is lined. There is a opening at the top for the lapel to go through so it can rest on my shoulder. It's not a very functional fit.
The belt is just green fabric left overs with interfacing in it to give it a sturdy look. It snaps in the back.
The arm sleeves are just brown cotton I sewed to fit my arms. They are hard to put on. If I were to make this now, I would have used a stretch fabric.
The pants are a crime but that's okay because the tunic hides the mistakes! It's a waist band style. I made them too short so they ride very low on my waist and on my legs. I don't know if I used a pattern for this. It's an awkward fit and something I always planned to remake but never did. The fabric was amazing to work with and super soft, but frayed so bad.
Shoes were bought from Ebay. Took me 3 orders to finally get the right size.
